The best web pages are built from doing an Effective Keyword Research. You can always find this pages because search engines rank them highly based on their keyword research. This is one of the most important things you can do as an Internet marketer.

Let's talk a little bit about how you can do the best keyword research.

A keyword is just what people type in the search engines to find things they need for information or for buying.

1. Stay on theme. You need to stay focused on one specific keyword phrase when you build a page. Then when you add content to that page you will want to find more keywords around your topic.

2. Google offers a free tool to do keyword research at: http://adwords.google.com. With this tool you can know exactly how many people is searching for a specific keyword.

However a way to do the best keyword research more in deep is to get a software, this will help you a lot because they will give you much more information than the google tool like:

• The exact competition each keyword has in numbers, how many web pages are using this keywords, how many links they have so you could know exactly if you could beat that competition or it would be impossible to do it. Doing keyword research you may find a keyword that has a lot of searches and use it, and it could be a terrible mistake because maybe this keyword has to many websites competing so you will never get to page 1 on google, where people can find you, get free traffic, and sales. • Another benefit you get with this software, is that you can find the OCI % (this is commercial intention). This is simple; there are two kinds of keywords; the first one is what people type to find information, and the second what people type to buy. If you are trying to sell some product and you use a keyword that have a lot of searches but they only looking for information, you will be never be able to sell anything, this is why the OCI% is so important.

• Also with all the data these software provide, you will know exactly what you need to do to rank well in the search engines.

There are two software I use to make an effective keyword research and can recommend. Both give you a free trial to test them and all the information you need to do the best keyword research like a pro: samurai and wordtraker.

3. To make an effective keyword research Think long tail. These are phrases that are more than three words. As the Internet continues to mature people search by typing in more words into the search box.

Your goal is to found with as many keyword phrases as possible. Therefore when developing your list you want to build long keyword phrases of several words that a person might be searching for relating to the theme of your website.

4. Get the keywords in the right place. This is actually very easy to do.

When you build a web page the keyword should be in the title, and keyword meta tag, and in the body of your page.

When you add content the keyword should be bolded in the first paragraph. It should also be bolded in the last paragraph.
